First Aid in the Workplace (English)

Hudson - This English-language training course provides participants with the minimum knowledge required to carry out a structured and effective response protocol. It also teaches basic resuscitation techniques and equips participants with the skills needed to provide first aid to people in distress in the workplace.
Contents
Roles and responsibilities of first aid providers, regulations;
Hazards associated with exposure to blood;
Primary and secondary assessment;
CPR protocols for children (ages 1 to puberty) and adults;
Use of an automated external defibrillator (AED);
Airway clearance;
90-minute training on epinephrine administration;
Medical conditions (altered level of consciousness, heat stroke, seizures, difficulty breathing, chest pain, hypothermia, poisoning, diabetic complications).
Head, spinal, and limb injuries.
Eye injuries, burns, frostbite.
Shock, hemorrhage.
Patient transport techniques.
Certification
Candidates will receive a certificate from the Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST) that is valid for three years.
